Setting

It’s 1939. In The Middle of Nowhere, U.S.A., there lies a strange decopunk city called Juncturetown. This city has a bit of a problem—there’s a rip in the sky. A rip in the sky that’s exposing the city to an otherworldly cosmic radiation, warping people’s senses and driving them mad (or turning them into monsters) if they look at it for too long. Unbeknownst to them, the rip in the sky is slowly pulling the city into another dimension, and not even Town Hall's strict "Don't Look Up" mandate will be able to save them.
Our 2 POV Characters:
- Capella Caruso -
Juncturetown's bombastic, snazzy, and applause-hungry radio host who plans to bring television to the city — a perfect distraction to keep people's eyes off the sky, and squarely on her...
- Marley Drew -
A sweet but shiftless Irish traveling dancer with a banjo and a fear of performing alone, who gets stuck in Juncturetown after a strange automobile accident...

What's It About?
It’s 1939, and Juncturetown, a strange, decopunk city in the Middle of Nowhere, U.S.A., has a problem. There’s a rip in the sky. It has terrifying effects on those who look up, and, unbeknownst to citizens, it’s pulling them into another dimension. Capella Caruso, Juncturetown’s ambitious, applause-hungry radio host, wants to bring broadcast television to the city to keep everyone’s eyes off the sky… and squarely on her. But, much to her irritation, to combat the risk this new form of entertainment will place on her career, she must find a partner.
Enter Marley Drew, an Irish traveling dancer who doesn’t remember how he got to Juncturetown, and whose inexplicable arrival causes property damage and earns him a debt he must pay before he’s allowed to leave.
After meeting at a nightclub audition, the two decide to join forces. Growing in fame and friendship, they fight to distract audiences, secretly support investigations of bizarre events related to the sky, and evade Town Hall’s scrutiny. But as the rip grows, greater dangers begin to emerge—from the sky, from the new technology of television that’s reacting to Juncturetown’s cosmic abnormalities, and from the way they see both each other and themselves.
